I feel like every week AVID is bugging me with a new error message..

So I launched my project that I have been working on for last few montsh when AVID pops up this message.

"A serious error has occured! Save your project and restart your system immediatly" So I did that, tried it again, and same thing happens Again.. At that point I began to freak out. I created a new project immediatly and copied all the bins from the old project into it... Tried again, by opening the new project and everything seems ok.. Then i shut it down, tried the old project and everything was fine as well!?!!? Can someone explain this to me.... Now the old project seems to be working fine... .. I really don't get it..

Anyone know how to export a locator list with thumbnails, timecode and text as a pdf or other non avid document. I want to avoid printing it and would like to be able to email it.  I am cutting this projecyt on both MC  6.0 and Xpress pro 5.8.1.

I started having error messages from Avid when I launch any project this morning:

This Volume as not get been mounted by the application. You can either mount all volumes or load another project.

Problem is everything is there. All of my files are on my RAID. Just unmounting and remonting the RAID fixes the problem... But as I said it did not happen before.

How can I fix this ? The RAID has been checked and is just fine. 

MC 6.0.1.1 on 10.7.3 - I have a text file in which I've saved all of the console commands for easy reference.  When I want to use a console command, I'd like to copy it from that text document, and then paste it into the text bar of the console.  When I hit paste, the software crashes immediately.

Our office recently upgraded to Media Composer 6 (now MC 6.0.1). In the past, we have always had a server which we called "File Share" where the editors have personal folders where they can store things.

Ever since the upgrade, whenever someone has MC open and they click on the File Share icon to mount it to their desktop, Media Composer opens it up as a bin. It creates a bin called "File Share" and then opens it. If there are quicktimes at the root of the Fileshare, they show up (albeit offline) in the new bin.

Any ideas why MC6 is doing this, and maybe there's a Setting that I can't find to turn it off?

I am doing a huge project that has hundreds of 20 hour timelines. Is there a way to add audio waves to just part of a timeline when I need to sync audio? TIA

I started working on a project with Media Composer 6 on a Mac with Lion and Nitris DX hardware than I moved it to a Mac with Snow Leopard and Kona LHe hardware. All files were shot with Alexa and linked with "link to AMA file". When I first opened the project file it lost (obviously) all the links so I relinked it and all worked good. After a coffe break, when i got back to the station, all media were offline. I relinked all media, saved the project and all worked fine. This morning everything was still offline. I know for sure that's not a station related problem as all other projects work fine.

Can you please help me?

Can someone tell me the latest news re MC6 and multi-display setups?  I have a Mac Pro, with three displays, and I've been putting off updating to v. 6 because I'd read about problems with Avid windows in multi-display set-ups.

Have these been resolved in v.6.0.1?

If I crossgrade FCP to Symphony, can I migrate the Symphony license to my current MC6 dongle, and move the MC6 license to software activation?

This would suit my workflow better since I'm more likely to use Symphony on my main system and MC on the go.

Hi.  I dropped subclips of a GROUPED master clip into a script, ran scriptsync and everything is fine.  But when I want to matchframe back to the script using the "Find Script" button, I get an error beep from the mac.  I think the issue is that when I matchframe, the Avid loads the grouped master clip into the source window instead of the grouped subclip.  Is there a workaround, or is it a limitation of Scriptsync?
